Designed for door applications with wall switch mounting, the HID Signo 40 supports a wide range of identification technologies and a variety of form factors, including cards, smart keys, and mobile devices.

- Highly versatile: supports a wide range of identification technologies, including native HID Mobile Access via Bluetooth and Near Field Communication (NFC). Apple's Enhanced Contactless Polling (ECP) feature is also included, with support for credentials stored in Apple Wallet.
- Exceptional performance: ultra-secure storage of cryptographic keys on certified secure hardware, plus a new surface detection feature that allows the reader to calibrate itself and optimize reading distance.
- Ready for the future: All readers support the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) to ensure secure two-way communications. Each reader is also designed to be connected and managed via an encrypted and secure mobile app.
